What to wear for a wedding

We’ve all been invited to a wedding at least once in our lives and it’s always a problem as to what to wear, especially when you don’t know what the weather is going to do.
The first rule, which has been around for a long time, is not to wear white or cream which supposedly is the colour that the bride will be wearing herself, but apart from that any other colour will do. Although having said that black on its own wont do either and so if you want to wear black it has to be teamed up with other colours or with white.

If it is a winter wedding a good idea is to get yourself a dress with matching coat outfit, that way you can keep the coat on during the ceremony and through your trip to the reception and then once there you can remove it to reveal your nice matching dress underneath.
For a spring wedding roughly the same idea can hold again except this time change the coat for a lightweight matching jacket where if the reception is held outdoors and it gets too warm you can easily take it off.
You can also wear a hat if you like as these are still very popular and there are some really original ones to choose from. The only word of advice is that hats are not for weddings that take place late afternoon or evening because these later weddings often include dancing and you can’t really dance with a large hat on and if you do decide to take it off your hair is not going to be left looking very good after having been pinned down by a hat for several hours.
And as for your bag, well even though large bags are in fashion they don’t fit in well for a wedding so just opt for a small Chanel type handbag with the quilted leather and chain shoulder strap or a simple clutch bag, after all you don’t have too carry that much with you for a wedding.
